diving bali with Blue Season Bali

Dive Procedures

Blue Season Bali has general standard operating procedures in place that governs how we conduct all our SCUBA diving activities on a day to day basis.

These are continually updated in line with changes in International standards and medical thinking. To give you an idea of some of the standards that we keep, we have made a short list for you.

  • All divers must provide proof of certification and their diving history prior to diving. Those who cannot provide proof of their diving history will be required to perform a check out dive with our Divemasters or Instructors.
  • All divers must fill in the required liability releases and complete a medical checklist. Any conditions that may provide a risk to the participant whilst scuba diving, should be checked by a doctor prior to diving.
  • The maximum ratio of certified divers to Divemasters is 4:1 in perfect conditions. In less than perfect conditions, a maximum 2:1 policy is enforced. We rarely get perfect conditions!
  • We only combine divers with similar levels of experience in buddy teams or groups. We never pair inexperienced divers with experienced divers.
  • Maximum depth limits as follows:
    • Open Water Diver with little experience - 18 meters
    • Open Water Diver with proof of deeper diving experience - 30 meters
    • Advanced Open Water - 30 meters
    • Divers with proof of Deep diver specialty - 40 meters
  • All divers must review their no decompression limits prior to diving. Those guest not using dive computers must follow the limits of the RDP, table or wheel version. Guests with dive computers are not allowed to share; they must use their own computers.
  • Divemaster complete a dive roster on every dive to ensure we have all our guests and to keep an eye on decompression limits.
  • All dive sites are colour coded to provide general conditions and level of diver suitable for that dive, i.e. red dive site - experience beyond 30 logged dives necessary. Yellow dive site suitable for all levels of divers.

These are just a few of the many standards we have in place. With everything, we are always looking for feedback from our guests. If you have any comments about any of our standards, please let our management team know. Feedback is vital to the success and development of this company.
